Accounting service prices

You provide the documents and information — invoices, bank statements and working time data. I check and record everything, calculate payroll and taxes (VAT, employment taxes and corporate income tax), prepare all required reports and tax returns, as well as the annual report. You can choose the plan that suits you or request an individual price quote.

Why the price varies

What affects the price

The main factor affecting the price is the time required to maintain the accounting records (the number of documents). Other factors that may affect the price include:

  • Complexity of transactions. Processing uniform and "simple" transactions requires less time than processing complex transactions of different types, carried out in different countries and subject to different VAT rates.
    Example

In one case, the company carries out uniform and straightforward transactions. No questions arise when recording the transactions, and there is no need for additional analysis of regulations.

In another case, the company carries out various types of transactions (for example, different types of services, electronically supplied services, licence sales and sales of goods). Customers and service recipients include both individuals and legal entities. They are located in Latvia, other European Union member countries and outside the European Union. When recording such transactions, it is necessary to check whether the correct VAT rate has been applied in each case. Various questions may also arise. Finding answers may require analysing legislation, court decisions and explanations issued by the State Revenue Service.

In the second case, the price of accounting services will be higher than in the first case.

  • Quality and timeliness of documents. If documents are provided regularly and in full, the work is predictable. Incomplete or late documents require additional time.
    Example

In one case, the company regularly (for example, at the beginning of each month) provides (transfers) all documents and necessary information to the accountant. The accountant generally has no questions when recording the documents. There are generally no unclear situations or misunderstandings. The cooperation is predictable.

In another case, the company provides only part of the documents irregularly (after several requests). When recording the transactions, it becomes clear that many invoices are missing. The requested invoices are not provided even after they have been requested. Documents and information are often provided shortly before or even after the deadline for submitting reports and tax returns.

Reports often need to be corrected after submission. An incorrect tax rate has been applied to some transactions. Some salary payments do not correspond to the approved payroll calculations. Company employees relatively often contact the accountant to resolve various issues.

  • Complexity and workload of payroll calculation. Calculating wages (salaries) based on a fixed rate is generally simpler and less time-consuming than calculations involving various rates, bonuses, additional payments, overtime, and other factors. Additional time is also required in cases of high staff turnover or when there is a regular need to explain payroll calculations.
  • Intensity of communication. If communication is regular and there are no urgent issues to resolve, the fee is lower. Frequent or urgent communication, as well as additional work to resolve issues with business partners or the State Revenue Service, may increase the fee.
    Example

If an issue needs to be resolved urgently, the accountant has to postpone planned work to deal with it. The accountant may also need to contact the company's creditors frequently regarding outstanding debts. Relatively frequent communication with the State Revenue Service may also be necessary to resolve various issues.

  • Complexity of payment structure. Each additional bank account, payment system or foreign-currency transaction increases the time required to process statements, reconcile data and check balances. Additional time is also required to process data from electronic cash registers (cash register systems).
    Example

In one case, the company has one euro bank account with a Latvian credit institution and no electronic cash registers. Importing and reconciling bank transactions in the accounting system takes relatively little time.

In another case, the company has several accounts at different banks, as well as accounts and payment cards in different payment systems such as Revolut, Wise or PayPal. Transactions are carried out in different currencies. This requires processing statements for each account, calculating exchange rate differences, and reconciling account balances. These factors increase the workload and, consequently, the cost of services. Additional time may also be required if the company operates multiple electronic cash registers or point-of-sale systems.

  • Additional work. Preparing invoices and payments, preparing expense reports and cash documents, preparing business trip documents, preparing documents related to the use of vehicles, accounting for long-term investments, preparing interim balance sheets, as well as contracts and orders.

Get an exact price quote

To calculate the exact cost of services, I need some brief information about the company's activities and the volume of accounting work: the approximate number of invoices and receipts, number of employees, cash registers, fixed assets and vehicles, as well as the company's business sector and geographical scope. Based on this information, I will prepare a price quote.
